Abortion is not your only pregnancy option. We are here to better inform you about your other options outside of abortion, including adoption and parenting. You deserve to know what each of these options entails and the support available for each.

You are not alone, and you don’t have to have all the answers right now—one step at a time. We’re here to come alongside you.

You Have Two More Options

1. Adoption

Adoption is the legal process that allows a family to take responsibility for another’s child. This process has drastically improved over the years, enabling birth mothers to choose what’s best for them and their child’s future.

There are three different adoption plans based on the amount of contact you hope to have with the adoptive family. These include:

  • Open adoption: an adoption plan where you exchange identifying information with the adoptive couple. You can communicate through letters, texts, phone calls, and potential visits.
  • Closed adoption: this type of adoption plan keeps you completely anonymous. You won’t have any communication with your child or their family.
  • Semi-open adoption: this type of adoption plan lets you remain anonymous while still having the ability to contact the family. A third party, like the adoption agency, handles all communication.

At Embrace, though we don’t directly coordinate adoptions, we can assist you if you would like to know more about the following:

  • Adoption education and resources
  • Maternity clothes
  • Referral to an adoption attorney or agency
  • Counseling support during pregnancy and beyond

2. Parenting

Parenting can seem like the most challenging option upfront, but you may be surprised at how naturally parenting comes to you as a mother. Many women find hope, purpose, and confidence for their future in embracing their role as parents.

Are you worried that you don’t have the right support to parent right now? Our Embrace staff is prepared to walk with you every step of the way and offer you support. We provide no-cost parenting classes, community referrals, and material support.
