Pregnancy
We highly recommend you call or text to make an appointment. Walk-ins are available on a limited basis. Plan to be here for up to 1.5 hours to allow time if the nurse determines a sonogram will be done at your appointment. If she asks you to return for a sonogram at a later date, your first visit will only take about 45 minutes. Please make necessary childcare arrangements before your appointment as children are not allowed in exam rooms.
It is best to have a home test verified by a clinical test. Our pregnancy tests are lab-quality, similar to what you’d find in a doctor’s office. (Note: we provide urine tests only and do not offer blood tests for pregnancy). If your test is positive, the nurse will perform an assessment to determine if a sonogram will be performed at your first visit, or if you need to come back at a later date. An ultrasound is used to determine if the pregnancy is viable and how far along you are. After the sonogram, you will have the information you need to make an informed decision regarding your pregnancy.

If you are considering an abortion, Embrace offers free and confidential pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. 25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. An ultrasound will determine if you have a viable pregnancy inside the uterus. If your pregnancy may end in miscarriage there may be no need to pay for an abortion. We do not perform or refer for abortion.
Whether it is a friend, family member, or father of the baby, we understand the need for moral support. For your privacy, we will meet with you individually at first and then invite your support person back later when you’re comfortable. Please make childcare arrangements for children ahead of time as we are not able to accommodate children in the exam rooms.
If you have a driver’s license or some other form of photo ID, please bring that with you. Insurance cards are not needed since services at Embrace are free. Your privacy is important to us, and we do not share any information without your permission.
