Embrace is looking for a Medical Assistant in our STD/STI clinic. This role is to provide support and care to our clients and maintains professional standards of care, following appropriate licensure Code of Ethics. This role is compliant with OSHA and CLIA requirements and a wide variety of the medical services. Plan and perform direct and indirect interventions according to licensure qualifications and assists in providing the STD medical services provided by Embrace of Wichita, Inc., under the direction of the STD Clinic Director.

Client Services:

  • Assures that our clients feel welcome upon arrival for screening
  • Interview patients obtaining their vital signs, statistics, weight, and other medical information/records requested by licensed provider
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and licensed providers’ instructions to patients.
  • Provides client with life-affirming education that reinforces sexual health and integrity of the client

Qualifications: 

  • Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and to sexual purity
  • Agree with and be able to uphold the Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and policies of the center (Embrace of Wichita)
  • Maintains a working knowledge of nursing methods, principles and practices in relations to the prevention and treatment of disease, safety, and infection control, clinical systems, supplies, and equipment
  • Experience with laboratory and medical office practices required, education in nursing and possessing a current LPN in the State of Kansas preferred
  • Demonstrate strong and compassionate interpersonal communication skills towards clients and staff
  • Dependable, stable and capable of following through on commitments. Attention to detail critical
  • Ensures cleanliness of patient areas, medical equipment and that infection control guidelines are followed
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
