First-time pregnancy? New parent? Becoming a parent to a second or third (or more!) child? We’ve got you covered with our practical, useful, and free classes, held at our Wichita and/or Derby locations. Become more confident and capable while meeting other parents in your community.
Join a Community of Hope and Empowerment
Work on various life skills in a welcoming setting with a trained mentor. Choose from topics including:
- Prenatal care and what to expect during pregnancy
- Labor, delivery, and newborn care
- Child development milestones
- Building healthy relationships

All classes are free to you! Sessions are available at either Embrace location. Please note: these classes are not eligible for mandated or court-ordered parenting classes.
No-Cost Classes
Relationships 101
Meets once a week for six weeks. Learn the components of a healthy and intimate couple relationship. But the information you learn can be applied to a variety of relationships. Explore:
- How to Effectively Handle Conflict
- Foundations of a Healthy Relationship
- The 5 Love Languages (by Gary Chapman)
- Components of Healthy Communication
- Developing Emotional Intimacy with Your Partner
Plus, when one parent takes two classes, or parents take one class together, earn the following:
- A one-time large Baby Shower in a Box newborn baby supplies valued at $375.
- Monthly supplemental supplies (diapers, wipes, formula, etc.) through your baby’s first year of life.
Incentives are designed for one baby per family.
Please arrange for adequate child care, as no children are allowed in class except for babies up to 5 months old.
Parenting 101
Meets once a week for six weeks. Identify your parenting style and learn the key principles for coaching emotions in children. Children who can acknowledge, label, and work with their emotions:
- Perform better in school
- Demonstrate increased communication skills; and
- Maintain higher-quality peer and family relationships
Plus, when one parent takes two classes, or parents take one class together, earn the following:
- A one-time large Baby Shower in a Box newborn baby supplies valued at $375.
- Monthly supplemental supplies (diapers, wipes, formula, etc.) through your baby’s first year of life.
Incentives are designed for one baby per family.

Community for Partners Pregnancy Program
This no-cost program is available exclusively for pregnant women and is provided by our trusted community partners.
When you complete all of the following program elements, earn a FREE bedside bassinet OR a video baby monitor valued at $150:
- Two visits with our expert Embrace resource staff. Schedule the visits with Stacy or Elizabeth by calling 316.945.9400.
- Complete a Childbirth Education Class – provided at Embrace, your choice of hospital, or BabyTalk Labor & Delivery.
- Attend three of the four workshops scheduled from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Wichita or Derby Embrace locations.
- Workshops will be offered twice per year, per location.

Childbirth Education
Are You a First-Time Mom?
Then join us for these informative one-day classes. Get answers to common questions and share your concerns about what happens when you experience labor and delivery.
Topics include:
- Labor Anatomy and Terminology
- The Process of Labor and Delivery
- Pain Management During Labor – Relaxation,
- Breathing, Positioning, Medications
- Cesarean Birth and Other Labor Interventions
- Information about Your Newborn
- Personal Care after Delivery of Your Baby
- The Role of the Support Person in Labor and Delivery
Classes are taught by a Registered Nurse. Bring a pillow or two for labor practice. You are encouraged to bring one support person.
You will need to register your partner separately.
